The Yukon Public Legal Education Association (YPLEA) has been a presence in the Yukon for nearly forty years. It was formed in 1984 as an access to justice organization, with a focus on providing information to the public about the law and the legal system and facilitating access to legal services.
YPLEA currently operates the popular Law Line service, through which a staff lawyer provides legal information by answering questions about legislation and legal processes, assists with forms and general navigation, and makes referrals to other resources in the community. YPLEA also creates and maintains well-used resources with respect to family law, wills and estates, and adult protection, among other things.
Please contact us for further information about our services, if you would like hard copies of our resources, or if you are interested in having someone present about law and legal processes to an organization or community.
We can be reached at (867) 668-5297 or 1-866-667-4305. You can also drop in and see us at 102-2131 2nd Avenue, across from the courthouse in downtown Whitehorse.
